PREDECESSOR / SUCCESSOR AND BETWEEN

PREDECESSOR

Predecessor is that which comes before immediately, or the event that has happened just before the current event. Kim prepares the tea before drinking it, or Jack walks out of his house before going to the market.

In mathematics terms, it is the number that comes, just before a particular number, or in other words the predecessor is the number – 1. For instance the number 12 comes before 13, or 13 – 1 = 12.

Friday comes before Saturday. June comes before July. May also comes before July, but it is not the predecessor of July, since it does not comes immediately before July. June is the  month that comes immediately before July. In everything it is the same case. In numbers also the predecessor of number 21 is number 20 not the number 19

So predecessor is also known as before, previous, prior or former

SUCCESSOR

Successor is that which comes after immediately, or follows it. 16 comes after 15. July comes after June. In real life , if we consider Terence goes to the office after getting ready, or Olive reads the book after opening it .

So mathematically successor is the number + 1. Successor of the number 1,025 is 1,026 or 1,025 + 1 = 1,026. The number 1,027 also comes after the number 1,025, but it is not the successor of the number 1,025 as it does not immediately comes after 1,025. Yes it is the odd successor of the number 1,025. The number 1,026 is the successor, but it is even not odd

The number 37 comes in between 36 and 38.

PROPERTIES OF SQUARE

1. The square has four sides, and each of the side is equal

1. The rectangle has four sides, and its opposite sides are equal

PROPERTIES OF CIRCLE

1.The circle is round in shape, with no side

2. The longest chord of the circle is its diameter, which touches its two end points. The diameter always passes from the center of the circle

3. The radius is half of the diameter, and radius is the line from the center of the circle to any one end point. So radius also touches end point, but only one end point

4. Infinite number of diameter and radius can be drawn in the circle

The infinite number of radius and diameter can be drawn in the circle 5. If the radius of two circles is equal, then the circumference and area of both circles is also equal  If the radius of two circles is 14 cm, then the circumference of both circles is 2 X 22/7 X 14 = 88 cm, and area is 22/7 X 14 X 14 = 616 sq cm

6.The arc is a part or portion of the circle. The arc could be major or minor

7. The tangent is the exterior line outside the circle, which touches the circle at only one point . The radius is perpendicular to the tangent line at the point of tangency
